710 posts · Joined 2004. #1 · Jul 27, 2005. As the 7th gen Accords get up in years and mileage, just wanted to keep track of any members who have had transmission failures and replacements. We know this was a serious problem on the 6th gen automatics, and there was a recall to modify the trans on the 7th gen early models.

Only thing I would suggest would be to keep the power steering fluid changed & coolant. You may want to get a top end / injector cleaning done to clean out any carbon build up. Honda recommended 4 d/f's for a trans. fluid change, it gets you 92% newer fluid. 2004 4cyl. EX Sedan automatic 607K - 2017 EX automatic 22K.
2012 Accord LX sedan 2.4L automatic, started about 2 months ago. Tl;dr headlights and power door locks do not work unless the car is turned on, radio has stopped working, checked fuses in all 3 fuse boxes and have no idea where to go from here.
Opened the sunroof, got home and did some trouble shooting and found out. 1) When i press the a/c button , the display says that "A/C on" but i do not hear the compressor kicking in. Blower is working but only hot air coming out. 2) checked the fuse all seems to be OK there. I got remote started installed last winter , thought the installer 8th Gen 3.5 vtec cooling fan problem. the cooling fans on my '08 accord v6 keep running beyond a reasonable time when the engine is off or at unnecessary times (move the car in the driveway a few feet and engine is cold). Sometimes they eventually turn themselves off and other times I've had to disconnect them after running more than 30 minutes. 1.

A generation is a group of model years where few, if any, changes were made to the vehicle which means their model years tend to break in similar ways.
